Pets

Okay.
I wanted to own a cat, badly. But I know I can't own (well, I can't OWN a cat. Cat is a living being, and not to be owned by anyone) them because that's just my curiosity. I get bored of things very fast that's why I can't have something related to commitment. I had searched online for cats adoption and had an impulse to adopt one. But then, I realise. These poor cats don't deserve me as their adopter. I get bored easily. I'm a student. An international student. Studying in Singapore. Which means I don't know anything about Singapore other than MY basic needs. I don't have income. My home always empty during the day. Most importantly: I never pet a cat before. Which means I only saw them, watch them and never touched them before.
I don't have anyone that can give advice on pet to me because no one around me have one themselves.
I really love cat since I'm a kid, but that's just from my observation. Like I said, I never really get to know anything about cats more than what my eyes can see.
To boot it up, I had a hamster before, and it died after 6 months. From starvation? I'm not sure because I was so heart broken that I don't want to handle his corpse. I'm the worst. I know I am. I feel so guilty that I didn't give him much more care than he should have. I shouldn't have bought him. If I didn't, He probably is still alive that conclude everything for me. No pet. I don't want to kill another living beings just because of my curiouity and impulsiveness. I love you, Tamiie, and sorry that I didn't love you enough and took better care of you. Don't forgive me, because I don't deserve it.

Online auction

So, I stumbled upon this auction website, www.sold.sg when I was searching for wacom tablet that is being auctioned so I can get one with cheaper price.
It's a website that let you bid something for an extremely SMASHING price.
But currently there are no bid for that stylish tablet that I want. Well, as a human as I am, I'm interested to the numerous expensive items being auctioned. So, I signed up. As a beginner, I found it's rather easy to catch into how to do it.
It has this single-bid and auto-bid.
Single-bid is you bid manually while auto-bid is you set a price range to let the bot bid for you.
Then it has this token thing.. Some auctions require token and some aren't, means free.
And this is getting tricky. One token is S$0.75. For auto bidder, certainly they get much possibility to be the bid winner but it comes with a cost. To auto-bid, all I can say is you have a HUGE capital to get as many tokens as you can or you have an amazing brain to predict at what price you should set.
They have so much tentative items that makes me can't help but join the bid despite the fact I will lose eventually. Like iPad, iPhone, Canon, Nikon, Samsung, and such. Then it occurs to me: how can they offer Canon camera with not more than S$20? It's such a loss to their part but I'm not complaining as customer. I was bidding this the new iPad and the whole thing come clearer to me now. The retail price of the iPad is S$958. And the bid is still going on right now, which has hit S$262. Let's round it up, S$960 and S$260 to make things easier.
Now, one bid increase the price by S$0.05, one bid requires one token an one token is S$0.75. Let's say this winner is auto-bidder and I can see s/he is aggressive and put a lot amount of token for it. So let's assume 200 tokens? Now, 200 tokens= S$150, plus the bid price, it sum up to S$410 which is a great deal.
Then, Let's see.. The bid price is S$260, means it has gotten $260 : $0.05 = 5,200 tokens hit. WOW. And 5,200 tokens means S$3,900!
Can you believe that? They can use that amount to buy 4 more iPad and earn 4 times that amount again, and again, and again. Nah.. This is so profitable.
Anyhow, as a customer, I find this kind of bidding activity is really irresistible, however, I might find myself dead in a sudden heart attack for the bid hits when I'm bidding.

Okay, that's all for now, I gotta go and keep track of my bid item. Bye!

Do you need it or want it?

So.... I want to ask a simple thing. What's the difference of needs and wants?
.
..
...
....
.....
Okay. After attending my marketing lecture, I found out what those definition had in me for as long as I remember are wrong. My primary school (or kindergarten?) teacher had taught us in a wrong way.
Needs = something that is essential for living
Wants = something you crave for but not necessarily important. Therefore conclude want is not as important as need. As example, you have money, but you have to spend it on your needs rather than what you want that does not hold much meaning at all.

and, it's WRONG.

Need is state of deprivation including physical, social, and individual needs (okay, that's too deep, I'm just gonna rephrase it as the same as the one above there)
Want is form that human need takes, as shaped by culture and individual personality (taken from my notes, too hard to understand but I tried: is a form of what someone use to satisfy their need.)
Example: you have to eat, therefore a need for food. What someone from America and from Asia want to satisfy their hunger are different. Both need food, but American might wants burger or steak to satisfy the need while Asian might wants noodle or rice.

BOOM. My brain exploded right at that second. Mindblown.
How could I mistaken such a basic thing for my entire life?
